Smuggled from The Brothel of Amsterdam
Our tallow comes from The Brothel of Amsterdam — our sister kitchen, located at Stadslandgoed 937, an urban hub for regenerative agriculture. It’s where bones brew, broth simmers, and the city’s heartbeat meets the rhythm of the soil, and nourishment becomes alchemical.
The Brothel is a regenerative caterer and curator for gut health — a place where everything begins in the pot and ends in the body, where waste turns to wisdom, and flavor meets biology.
Our marrow is literally smuggled from that kitchen — a bridge between inner nourishment and outer care. We feed the gut and the skin with the same reverence.

Elisabeth Krug The Woman with Fat under Her Skirt
Our grandmother Bep — Elizabeth — lived in Amsterdam during the Second World War. Her father-in-law, our great-grandfather, was a butcher. During the occupation, she was stopped by the German police while smuggling beef fat under her skirt. A classic family story — we laughed about it for decades, not realizing she was literally carrying gold. The same fat we now use to heal skin, calm inflammation, and restore balance was once contraband.
Bep was a leading lady all her life. At eighty, she started an acting career. She reinvented herself when most people settle down. She taught us that beauty has no expiration date and that courage often wears an apron.
That courage to begin again runs in our work. She didn’t buy into trends; she trusted what she knew. Fats, simplicity, presence. We’re just catching up with her now.

Rainmakers: Creating Agency
The Brothel and BEP were both born from Rainmakers Amsterdam, a creative house that builds love brands based on the Law of Attraction. A Rainmaker is a creative and strategic business artist — someone who moves through the world with authenticity, turning ideas into living systems that serve people and planet.
Agency is the muscle of creativity. When we create with agency, we participate in the creation of life.

The Positive Unknown
Our philosophy is guided by The Positive Unknown — a movement dedicated to creating positive alternatives to global challenges through the theory of positivity. It’s about curiosity, intuition, and the courage to feel through.
The Positive Unknown brings together extraordinary, intuitive free-thinkers to reimagine what’s possible — from business models to biology. The Brothel donates part of its revenue to support this work. Every jar of BEP, in its own small way, helps fund a more creative and regenerative world.
